Who are you?
My name is Karien Louw and I was born and raised in Pretoria, South-Africa. I love arts and crafts, nature and animals and enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband Hercules, who is a Mechanical Engineer. I am a self-confessed coffee and red wine snob and I absolutely love a good pizza.
What is your background in Mining?
I do not have a Mining specific background but am proud to say I have been working at MICROMINE for almost 15 years. During this time I have had the opportunity to attend in-house industry related training sessions, as well as training conducted by Snowden on Geology and Mining.
Why do you love using MICROMINE’s products?
I believe in our products because I see our clients’ satisfaction and loyalty. Our clients not only value our software and what it can do, but also honestly enjoy using the software, which is such a pleasure to witness.
Why do you love working at MICROMINE?
I respect MICROMINE for valuing their employees and I enjoy working for a smaller company because it gives me the opportunity to really get to know my colleagues. The flexible hours are also a bonus!
How does your role at MICROMINE Africa add value?
I handle Licensing and Annual Licensing for the South-African branch of MICROMINE and offer a friendly familiar face whenever I deal with our clients. I put great focus on client support and play a major role in supporting the sales team.
